Hi, my name is Lindsay Traill and I practice Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH). This is a very practical, solution focused, multi-modal, skill based therapy where the three modalities of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and hypnosis are combined.
My practice is based in Santa Monica, California but we can also meet via zoom for those geographically further away.
In a typical CBH session we will be undertaking several activities to help you achieve your goals for therapy. In the beginning these will be:

All of these techniques are grounded by scientific principles and together will enable you to experience lasting positive change.
Each session we will also be reviewing your progress, discussing your feedback on the strategies employed and answering any concerns or questions you may have. Only by building a trusting, open, collaborative relationship like this will we get to the heart of your issues and find the quickest and most effective solutions.
Last, but not least, every week you will also have a homework assignment or ‘fun inter-session activity’, however you would like to think of it! These are an integral part of the therapeutic process and will reinforce the skills learnt during our sessions together.
Above all I hope that at the end of our sessions together you will be asking yourself the kind of questions that I have asked you. In this way you will become your own therapist, applying your new learnings, independently, wherever you need.
